Benefits of Exercise Prescription

Exercise Prescription is an important factor to maintain a healthy lifestyle. As we all know,


it is a set of physical activities that is being prescribed to a person by a professional fitness expert
to achieve his goal regarding his physical health. In this way, a person could reduce the risk of
developing illness or dying from it. It is recommended by an expert to perform a 20 to 30 minutes
of aerobic activity, strengthening activity, and stretching activity for three or more times in a
week. However, if you are a beginner and you are aware that you cannot do this level of exercise,
you can perform moderate intensity type of physical activity for 20 to 3 minutes in at least three
or more times a week like walking or swimming. In this way, you can reduce the risk of dying at
an early age, dying from heart disease, developing diabetes, developing high blood pressure,
developing colon cancer, the feeling of being depressed or having anxiety, controls weight, helps
in building and maintaining healthy bones, muscles, and joints. It helps in reducing high blood
pressure and older adults to become stronger and be able to move without falling. Lastly, it helps
in promoting psychological well-being for we all know that a physically fit body is a form of self-
love. There are as well specific health benefits of exercise. For instance, in a heart disease and
stroke, it helps prevent heart disease and stroke by strengthening your heart muscle, lowering
your blood pressure, raising your high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels (good cholesterol) and
lowering low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels (bad cholesterol), improving blood flow, and
increasing your heart's working capacity. For high blood pressure, it can reduce blood pressure
in those with high blood pressure levels. Physical activity also reduces body fatness, which is
associated with high blood pressure.
