ORDER: The Hon'ble Chief Minister announced under Rule 110 during the demand of this department on 08.09.2021 that the Government will pass a bill for establishing a State Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in Tamil Nadu, during the current session itself. 2. In the Act second read above, the Government have enacted the Tamil Nadu State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act, 2021 which was passed on the floor of the Legislative Assembly on 13.09.2021. 3. In the Government order 3” read above Orders have been issued for formation of Selection Committee consisting of the Principal Secretary, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department and the Secretary, Human Resources Management Department under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary to Government for selection of the Chairperson / Vice Chairperson / Members to the Tamil Nadu State Commission for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. The functions of the Commission will be as prescribed under Section-8, Chapter ~ Ill of Tamil Nadu State Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act, 2021 (Act 17 of 2021). 7. The powers of the Commission will be as prescribed under Section - 9, Chapter ~ III of Tamil Nadu State Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Act, 2021 (Act 17 of 2021). 8.
