Introduction
To have an education is very
important for our society. It is an
opportunity were people have the
chance to get a better living
condition and develop the society.
Many people in our country tend to
not attend college for financial
problems which also can lead to that
students will drop out of high school.
In 2020 U.S Bureau of labor statistics
did a study which showed that 16.5
million people from ages 16-24 was
not enrolled in school. This is 16.5
million too many where we have to
make a change. If college was free it
doesn't depend on how much money
you have or what family you comes
from, it's about knowledge and
ambitions. Education is key and
many bright minds haven't even had
the chance to have an opportunity to
change our society to something
better.
Why should college
be free ?
It improves the society - The education
students receive from college leads to that
society can progress faster. This is because
people can get more inclined to participate in
politics. Also the number of employable people
for high-skilled jobs increases, which will lead to
more people joining the workforce. This will help
with the gap between the upper, middle and
lower class.
A boosted economy - When students graduate
they have a massive amount of debt. For example
in the US the average debt for a student is
$31,172. And when a student graduates they will
likely continue to add to their debt. This will result
in that the debt just keep growing which causes
less spendings. If students would graduate
without debt it would result in a positive cycle for
the economic activity where the economy would
be stimulated when they would fast track their
ability to earn, save and spend.
Increases equality - Affordability plays a
massive role if you can afford school. A lot of
bright minded people come from low income
households which should not be a reason for
why they can’t continue with their education. If
there was an equal opportunity to attend school,
then everyone would have the same chance to
go to school.
Leads to more focus - When students don't
have to stress about money for their education
they can focus more about their education. This
stress that students go through everyday
worrying about the need of money can
negatively affect their school work were they
spend more time getting the money then
learning.
