Biography of Adam Smith

Adam Smith was a Scottish economist and philosopher. He was born on the fifth of June
1723 in Scotland. He is considered one of the most important in classical economics and the
philosophy of economics.

He attended Burgh School of Kirkcaldy in Scotland in 1729 to 1737. In this year, he entered
the University of Glasgow and studied moral philosophy. In 1748 , he began to give public
lectures in Edinburg. He earned a professorship at Glasgow University teaching logic course
in 1751. Later, in 1776 he wrote “The Wealth of Nations”, his most important work. After this,
he occupied the honorary position of Lord Rector of the University of Glasgow.

His death came in 1790 in Edinburg after a painful illness. He is remembered for his great
importance in the world of economics forever.
