NPCI Bharat BillPay introduces Unified Presentment Management System for

recurring bill payments
एनपीसीआई भारत बिलपे ने आवती बिल भुगतान के बलए एकीकृत प्रस्तु बत प्रिंधन प्रणाली की
शुरुआत की

 NPCI Bharat BillPay (NBBL), the wholly-owned subsidiary of National

Payments Corporation of India, has introduced Unified Presentment
Management System (UPMS) for recurring bill payments.
 नेशनल पेमेंट्स कॉरपोरे शन ऑफ इं डिया की पूर्ण स्वाडमत्व वाली सहायक कंपनी एनपीसीआई
भारत डिलपे (एनिीिीएल) ने आवती डिल भुगतान के डलए यूडनफाइि प्रेजेंटेशन मैनेजमेंट
डसस्टम (यूपीएमएस) पेश डकया है ।
 UPMS will enable the customers to set up standing instructions from any
channel and for any mode on their recurring bill payments.
 यूपीएमएस ग्राहकों को अपने आवती डिल भुगतान पर डकसी भी चैनल से और डकसी भी मोि
के डलए स्थायी डनर्दे श स्थाडपत करने में सक्षम करे गा।
 The bills will be automatically fetched from the billers and presented to
customers for their action, in terms of auto-debit and bill payment
management.

RBI offers a dedicated window for bond houses

आरिीआई िॉन्ड हाउस के बलए एक समबपित बवंडो प्रदान करता है
  The Reserve Bank of India recently provided a new special window for
bond houses called “Primary Dealers”.
 भारतीय ररजवण िैंक ने हाल ही में "प्राथडमक िीलर" नामक िॉन्ड हाउस के डलए एक नई डवशेष
डवंिो प्रर्दान की है ।
 The window allows the exchange of illiquid securities.
 खिड़की अतरल प्रडतभूडतयों के आर्दान-प्रर्दान की अनुमडत र्दे ती है ।
 Illiquid securities are those securities that cannot be sold easily or directly.
 इडलखिि डसक्योररटीज वे डसक्योररटीज हैं डजन्हें आसानी से या सीधे िेचा नहीं जा सकता है ।
 That is, the investors buying the securities can sell them only in limited
instances.
 यानी प्रडतभूडतयों को िरीर्दने वाले डनवेशक उन्हें सीडमत मामलों में ही िेच सकते हैं ।

What is the new window?

 The primary dealers are those dealers who buy securities directly from the
government. They then resell the security to the others.
 प्राथडमक िीलर वे िीलर होते हैं जो सीधे सरकार से प्रडतभूडतयां िरीर्दते हैं । वे डफर र्दूसरों को
सुरक्षा िेचते हैं ।
 Thus, their main role is to assist the government in selling bonds or
securities.

 They earn some fees for selling these securities.

RBI notifies market making plan to promote retail participation in G-Secs

आरिीआई ने सरकारी प्रबतभूबतयों में खुदरा भागीदारी को िढावा दे ने के बलए िाजार बनमािण
योजना को अबधसूबित बकया

 The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) notified the market making scheme to
promote retail participation in government securities by providing
prices/quotes to retail direct gilt (RDG) account holders enabling them to buy
and sell securities under the RBI Retail Direct Scheme.
 भारतीय ररजवण िैंक (आरिीआई) ने सरकारी प्रडतभूडतयों में िुर्दरा भागीर्दारी को िढावा र्दे ने के
डलए िुर्दरा प्रत्यक्ष डगल्ट (आरिीजी) िाताधारकों को आरिीआई िुर्दरा प्रत्यक्ष योजना के तहत

 To provide liquidity in the secondary market, a market making
arrangement, wherein the primary dealers shall be present on the NDS-OM
platform (odd-lot and Request for Quotes segments) throughout market hours
and respond to buy/sell requests from Retail Direct Gilt Account Holders
(RDGAHs) has been notified.

 According to the market making scheme, primary dealers will rely on the

 Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the RBI Retail Direct Scheme
launched on November 12, 2021, to provide one-stop access to facilitate
investment in government securities by retail investors.

  Reserve Bank of India has retained State Bank of India, ICICI Bank and
HDFC Bank as Domestic Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs).

Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 which means it has been categorized as a

IRDAI sets new norms for surety insurance business and market
IRDAI ने ज़मानत िीमा व्यवसाय और िाज़ार के बलए नए मानदं ड बनधािररत बकए हैं

 Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) has

come out with guidelines, titled ‘IRDAI (Surety Insurance Contracts)
Guidelines, 2022’.
 भारतीय िीमा डनयामक और डवकास प्राडधकरर् (IRDAI) ने 'IRDAI (ज़मानत िीमा अनुिंध)
डर्दशाडनर्दे श, 2022' शीषणक से डर्दशाडनर्दे श जारी डकए हैं ।
 Aim: To ensure orderly development of the surety insurance business and
surety bonds market.
 उद्दे श्य: ज़मानत िीमा व्यवसाय और ज़मानत िां ि िाजार का व्यवखस्थत डवकास सुडनडित
करना।
 It will come into effect from April 1, 2022.
 यह 1 अप्रैल 2022 से प्रभावी होगा।
 As per the new guidelines, surety contracts will include advance payment
bond, bid bond, contract bonds, customs and court bond, performance bonds
and retention money.

Centre Released 50% funds earmarked for States, UTs under Emergency
COVID Response Plans – II (ECRP – II)
केंद्र ने आपातकालीन कोबवड प्रबतबिया योजना-II (ईसीआरपी-II) के तहत राज्ों, केंद्र शाबसत
प्रदे शों के बलए बनधािररत 50% धनराबश जारी की

 The Government of India recently announced that it has disbursed 50% of

the ECRP – II funds.
  भारत सरकार ने हाल ही में घोषर्ा की है डक उसने ईसीआरपी-डितीय डनडध का 50% डवतररत
कर डर्दया है ।
 The announcement came as a clarification as some of the media reported
that only 26.14% of the funds were disbursed.
 यह घोषर्ा एक स्पष्टीकरर् के रूप में आई क्योंडक कुछ मीडिया ने िताया डक केवल 26.14%
धनराडश का डवतरर् डकया गया था।
 ECRP basically aims to accelerate the preparedness of the health system.

About ECRP – II

 The ECRP – II is to be implemented between July 2021 and March 2022.

What are the plans of ECRP – II?

1- Support to Central hospitals/ केंद्रीय अस्पतालों को सहायता

 The plan aims to support the major COVID centres such as AIIMS, Safdarjung
Hospital, government hospitals in Shillong, Imphal, Delhi, Puducherry,
Chandigarh; JIPMER. It will repurpose six thousand beds in these centres.
 उनकी योजना का उद्दे श्य एम्स, सफर्दरजंग अस्पताल, डशलां ग, इं फाल, डर्दल्ली, पुिुचेरी,
चंिीगढ के सरकारी अस्पतालों जै से प्रमुि COVID केंद्रों का समथणन करना है ; डजपमेर। वह
इन केंद्रों में छह हजार डिस्तरों का पुनडनणमार् करे गी।

2- Strengthen NCDC/ एनसीडीसी को मजिूत करें

 Genomic Sequencing machines are to be supplied to National Centre for

Disease Control (NCDC). Also, Epidemic Intelligence Services, Scientific
Control Room and INSACOG support are to be extended to NCDC.
 जीनोडमक सीिेंडसंग मशीनों की आपूडतण राष्टरीय रोग डनयंत्रर् केंद्र (एनसीिीसी) को की जानी
है । इसके अलावा, महामारी िुडफया सेवाओं, वैज्ञाडनक डनयंत्रर् कक्ष और INSACOG समथणन
को एनसीिीसी तक िढाया जाना है ।

3- Support to implement HMIS/ एिएमआईएस को लागू करने के बलए समर्िन

  HMIS is Hospital Management Information System. The ECRP – II will provide
financial assistance to establish HMIS in all district hospitals.
 HMIS अस्पताल प्रिंधन सूचना प्रर्ाली है । ईसीआरपी-II सभी डजला अस्पतालों में
एचएमआईएस स्थाडपत करने के डलए डविीय सहायता प्रर्दान करे गा।

4- Support to expand E – Sanjeevani/ ई-संजीवनी का बवस्तार करने के बलए समर्िन

 The National Architecture of E – Sanjeevani platform is to be expanded. The

everyday tele – consultation limit is to be increased to five lakhs. Currently it is
fifty thousand.
 ई-संजीवनी प्लेटफॉमण की राष्टरीय वास्तुकला का डवस्तार डकया जाना है । र्दै डनक टे ली-परामशण
सीमा को िढाकर पां च लाि डकया जाना है । वतण मान में यह पचास हजार है ।

5- Support to IT/ आईटी को समर्िन

 The Central War rooms located at the Department of Health and Family
Welfare, COWIN platform, 1075 COVID helplines and COVID portals of the
country are to be strengthened.

Government to launch Brand India Campaign to boost exports

 The Commerce Ministry of India is planning to launch “Brand India

Campaign” in order to give momentum to exports of services as well as
products in new markets.

 As per the latest Global Trade Outlook issued by the UK’s Department of
International Trade, India will become the world’s 3rd largest importer by
2050: With a share of 5.9% of global imports India will be right behind
China and the US.
 Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said that India is
working in mission mode to achieve the target of 400 billion dollar
merchandise exports in the current financial year.
 India”s services exports increased 24.1 per cent month-on-month to USD
19.72 billion in June 2021, the Reserve Bank of India said.
 Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman launched an ambitious

program at Lucknow.
 The Government of India has constituted an 8-member Committee with an

 Recently, India has entered the top ten list of agricultural produce
exporters in 2019 with a significant share within the export of rice, soya
beans, cotton and meat, according to a World Trade Organisation (WTO)
report on trends in world agricultural trade in recent 25 years.

 The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has extended access of the

formidable Zojila at an altitude of 11,649 feet, that links the union territory
of Ladakh with the rest of the country and remaining open beyond
December 31.
 सीमा सड़क संगठन (िीआरओ) ने 11,649 फीट की ऊंचाई पर र्दु जेय जोडजला की पहुं च िढा

 The BRO achieved this feat through its frontline Projects -- Vijayak and
Beacon, which are collectively responsible for maintaining the axis that has

  The kit is manufactured by Tata Medical and Diagnostics and is named
OmiSure.

 The kit currently in use to detect Omicron in India has been developed by

 Odisha’s Ganjam has declared itself a child marriage free district, the first
in the State.

 The district administration has been able to stop as many as 450 child
marriages and video-record 48,383 marriages in two years — 2020 and
2021.

  Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has unveiled a ₹13,265-crore
compensation package that will provide up to four times the market value of
land that would be acquired for SilverLine semi-high speed railway project.
 मुख्यमंत्री डपनाराई डवजयन ने ₹13,265 करोड़ के मुआवजे के पैकेज का अनावरर् डकया है
जो डसल्वरलाइन सेमी-हाई स्पीि रे लवे पररयोजना के डलए अडधग्रडहत भूडम के िाजार मूल्य का
चार गुना तक प्रर्दान करे गा।
 Total estimated cost for the project: ₹63,941 crores.
