-People in the media are media practitioners, which means that they are media professionals, while
people in the media are not media practitioners, but rather media users. Opinion Leader is a leader for a

 People as media: Social Media

 People in media: someone paid to be involved in the dissemination of others' actions

 People as media relay the message to everyone as the messenger.

 People in media give the messenger the message to relay to everyone.
