SILAS CARNEAL JONES
SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Silas Carneal Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund is
dedicated to the memory of Silas Carneal Jones, a 20-
year-old college student at the University of Central
‘Arkansas who was killed in an auto accident on
November 16, 2003.
Cameal’s parents, Octavia Moore (step-father, Wadie
Moore) and Neal Jones, along with the Silas Cameal
Jones Foundation and Little Rock Parkview High Schoo! want his memory to live
on by continuing with the “Silas Carneal Jones Memorial Golf Tournament, which
is annually held in March
‘The Foundation has awarded 72 scholarships since 2007 and will add six $500
scholarships this school year.
Make plans for the 2022 event now. A four-man golf scramble will be held on
March 18" at Eagle Hill Golf Course in Little Rock. The Foundation welcomes
donations throughout the year.
The Scholarship Fund has been established to encourage others to follow in
Carneal’s footsteps by living a rich-filled Christian life, love for all mankind, an
open heart to all and that desire to make life better at home, church and throughout
the community. The Foundation is administered by a committee consisting of
members of Cameal’s family, church and friends. The proceeds from the
toumaments will go to make a Scholarship Endowment a reality for senior high,
college-bound students each year.
The Foundation thanks you in advance for any media attention to this event. If
additional information is needed, please contact Wadie Moore at 501-607-3818 or
