Part 2: Some people claim that for the success of the interview, the
interviewee should agree with what the recruiter believes while others think
that the interviewee should have their own opinions even though the opinions
might contrast the interviewer’s belief.
Đan: In my opinion the intervieweeshould have their own opinions. When
you’re interviewing for a job, you typically have one primary goal: impress the
interviewer enough to get an offer. Often, we think that we need to be agreeable
to succeed, which can lead to a lot of nodding on both sides- even if you don’t
necessarily believe in what the person is saying. This type of well-intended
dishonesty may help you get the job, but it can lead to assumptions and
misconceptions that grow and fester once you’re in the role.,
Trân: To be successful in the long term, you should instead express your honest
opinions during an interview, presenting yourself as you are, not someone you
think the employer wants you to be. In fact, the most engaging interviews -for
both sides- We should argue to give our opinion. Thus, the employer will be
able to find out his ability through that argument. Here we discuss, not conflict.
We should say like “ This is what I see or this is what I’ve experienced” instead
of saying “I disagree”.
Đan: Of course, disagreeing with an interviewer isn’t always easy. There is
an imbalance of power, and you risks giving the impression that you’ll be
difficult to work with or making the interview uncomfortable . So we have to
know when to stop, and not show too much of our point of view, not insist on
your own opinions.
Trân: You’re true. We have to know when we should stop because when we
talk too much, It can cause ill-feeling with recruiter. But if you want to have
your own opinions, you need to have the proof points to back up what you’re
saying, If you dont have, you should shut up.So anyway, ưhen doing in the right
way, you will success.
Đan: If interviewee always agree with what the employer says. And It makes
recruiter think interviewee are so unctuous.

Set 3:
Part 2: Some people claim “Preventation is better than cure”.To what extent
do you agree or disagree with this saying? Give reasons and examples to
support your point of view.
Đan: I totally agree with statement “Preventation is better than cure”.
In this world, many people are dying from various types of health related
problems due to the lacking of appropriate health education and preventive
actions. So that to prvent people have to be educated about health. As an
example, if the goverment sees that smoking, drinking, and so on is bad things
for human body through this educational program, many people will be not
attacked by the severe sickness.
Trân: But as you can see health education has its limits. Over the last twenty
years, various western governments have attempted to discourage smokers. Yet
smokers still want to light up, therefore seriously questioning government effort
of prevention rather than cure. Nevertheless, through the same period cancer
treatment has improved considerably even producing beneficial spin-off
discoveries for asthma suffers. Therefore treatment is not only more effective, it
has also bettered other sectors of society.
Đan: I see what you mean but medical treatment nowadays is too high for even
the middle upper class to be able to afford. Moreover, while taking the
treatment for the current illness, there is no guarantee how side effects from the
medicine would cause harmful to the patient. Apart from this, by preventing
diseases, people can be saved from many severe experiences of these diseases.
Trân: You’re right. Many governments fight against several types of diseases,
especially diabetes and the heart diseases. Before these health problems attack
the people, it can be ceased by taking some preventive measure. For example,
exercise, sports, entertainment etc. can decrease the chances to become these
patients. which can protect the people from these intense sicknesses
Đan : yup, Even if prevention has solid evidence of being effective there is the
common case of patients suffering by pure chance. For example, it is known
that people can suffer from lung cancer but someone who having never smoked
anything whereas someone smoking twenty a day can escape such illness.
Therefore, even having followed government guidance, there would still be a
need for treatment. In addition, if funds had been diverted from research for
cures to education there would be little to help ‘chance victims’.
Trân: But In my opinion, it is supposed to be impossible to prevent all diseases
over the world. Especially, in some developing countries, the inhabitants are
still suffering from the poverty and have to face with many health problems in
their living environment. ( For example, in recent years, the statistics has
showed that 90% of child death from Malaria and HIV kills more than 6,000
people in Africa, which is more than war or floods. ) Therefore, at least having
available treatment for them can save a great number of people. This explains
logically the reason to continue conducting research and medical treatment
being still in need.

SET 5

Part 2:Recently, while young people often consider backpacking as a thrilling

way to travel, parents only see dangers out of this trend.Do you think the
advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages?
Đan: I am a young person so I agree that backpacking as a thrilling way to
travel. In fact that when backpacking you are more open minded. It also gives
you strenght and confidence. For example, wherever you visit you will know
more about culture, language and food in the country. So it helps you a lot for
your studying. Some knowledge wont be found in books so when you
backpacker will be directly contacted with local people, see how they live and
understand the culture.
Trân:Yup, I totally agree with you. Backpackers tend to be more open minded.
Due to experiencing many different cultures and events backpackers tend to
have a different view on life. They are more laid back since somehow they
always made it through difficult and sometimes dangerous situations. Moreover,
backpackers can easily to find lifelong friends. In fact, backpackers love to stay
in hostels, not only because it is cheap, fun and convenient… no, because they
love to meet other backpackers.
Đan: I couldnt agree more with you.Backpacking gives you the opportunity to
travel and see a lot of the world on a budget. You might need to lower your
usual living standards a bit with eating street food and sharing a dorm and
bathroom with other people. But it is a great way to see different environments
on a low costs. But we cant deny the fact that sometimes we will meet some bad
guys who take advantages of our trust. So anyway, we have to be careful when
backpacking.
Trân: Absolutely. The reason why I like backpacking that we arent constrainted
by the time. For example, you can stay an extra night in a city you fell in love
with. When you backpack you can go where you want, when you want, you can
wake up whenever you want, you can eat street food, you can do everything
you want. You dont depend on others to make decisions, you will be in control
of what you would like to do on your trip. you may even be able to set up your
own schedule and activities supported by locals.
Đan: That is a good point. When you are backpacking, you will go beyond
your comfort zone. This means that you will find out which aspects you are
good at and which not; therefore, you can develop yourself more. After the
backpacking trip, you can boost your soft skills such as your social skills,
communication skills and emotional intelligence. Instead of going on the tours,
you will remember more and have more memories when you experience
everything BY YOURSELF.

Trân: yes, you’re right .As you are traveling alone, you may face some
difficulties or dangers while traveling. Some difficulties you may face are being
overcharged by locals, getting lost, struggling to communicate, feeling lonely or
feeling unsafe. Although these situations can be frustrating, you will learn very
quickly to either deal with them or brush them off as they aren’t important.

SET 7

Part 2: People eat too much sugar and salt these days. To what extent do you
agree or disagree?
Đan: I totally agree that people nowadays eat too much sugar and salt.
According to survey, every year the world has about 180000 people die beause
of eating and drinking too much sugar and saft. In fact that more and more
people are suffering from high blood pressure and dying from heart
disease. Moreover, in many countries, children and adults are becoming
unheathy and overweight.
Trân: Yes, I couldnt agree with you more. The average bodyweight of people
in several countries is rising these days, and they have problems with the
physical condition as well. A lot of people prefer to consume in fast food outlets
nowadays. It is undeniable that most of the fast food restaurants serve foods that
contain fat ,salt and sugar, and as a result, those who frequently consume the
food get overweight and suffer from diseases related to heart.
Đan: yup.I have hear a lot of warnings throughout newspaper and televison.
They encourage people shouldnt eat too much fast foods because it is harmful
for your health. But nobody care about it, they continue to eat what they
like. The type of foods intake and more advancement in technology is resulting
in processed food, which is high in sugar and salt levels. Ready to eat foods like
chips, cheese would cause more damage to our digestion system.
Trân: yes, you’re right but do you know that sugar and saft also have a lot of
benefits? Well ,eating sugar gives your brain a huge surge of a feel-good chemical
(called dopamine).Your brain needs more and more sugar to get that same feeling
of pleasure. On the other hand, the most important thing salt is actually an
important nutrient for the human body. Your body uses salt to balance fluids in
the blood and maintain healthy blood pressure, and it is also essential for nerve
and muscle function
Đan: I know that but it is more harmful than good. Beside high pressure blood
or heart disease, you can get stomach cancer if you eat too much saft for a long
time.In fact, Higher salt intakes are a risk factor for development of stomach
cancer. And more, eating too much sugar may lead to obesity and insulin
resistance — the top two factors for type 2 diabetes — eating too much sugar
has strong ties to the onset of diabetes and can lead to health issues related to
your kidneys, liver, and pancreas. It is really poor when you know its harmful
but you cant reduce it.
Trân: Omg, it is so terrible. So people right now have to cut down sugar and
salt in their food. And people should more care their health. People need to do
some activities such as play sports, jogging, or gym,… so that it can help people
burn fat and keep fit. Because imbalanced style of living and unhealthy diet
have made overall health condition.

SET 9

Part 2: Do you think foreign cultures threaten the identity of the nation? Give
examples to support your point of view.
Đan: I totally agree that foreign cultures threaten the identity of the nation.
There are many warnings said that when many foreign cultures enter a country,
I cause the danger of losing a national cultural value. However, the excessive
cultural importation. This not only causes “fetish” but also reduces the ability to
access the public of traditional cultural products in the country. Specifically,
today's young people are too passionate about Korean idols instead of domestic
artists
Trân: No, I cant agree with you. Personally I think that the importation of
foreign cultures is very nice and meaningful.People can expand knowledge in
the acceptance of other cultures. For example, when young people admire their
idols, it means they have more understanding of language, culture, fashion or
anything else throughout their idols. They can improve their style when they see
what their idols dress up.
Đan: Nowadays, VietNam influenced by foreign culture. Many people forgot
about their own and move into foreign culture. In fact, people be free to do
anything without any violation and the lifestyle will change their self-identity.
Vietnamese people dont like Vietnamese product because many foreign product
that came to Vietnam. They think foreign product better than Vietnamese
product.
Trân: When the foreign culture is expanded, it means that Vietnam will attract
many multinational companies. This will help young people to work in a new
environment, develop their abilities and learn from foreign experiences.

Đan: yup, I know that but with the lifestyle of many young people today, the
negative problems in the process of absorbing foreign culture are very clear. For
marriage, the good tradition of Vietnamese is to promote love and meaning,
love maybe end, but meaning will last forever... But now, young people are
rising up trends such as cohabitation.
Trân: I couldnt agree with you more. Today's young people are too much
influenced by foreign cultures, so they have distorted thoughts that are contrary
to traditional culture. They are self-confident and comfortable dressing in a
weird way in public. They often compare why young foreigners can do it, while
in Vietnam, they say it's strange and monstrous. I cant understand what they are
thinking,..haizz
