The factor that has contributed towards the increasing awareness of quality in modern
business in Toyota is a Toyota view in the change of industry. The change of industry
whereas an industry can sell everything they produced and the material benefits of
prosperity are widely available as long as the quality routine were met. Based on the case
study, the objective of the Toyota System is to have a consistency and through the
elimination of waste and combining the objective which is ‘respect for humanity’. Ohno
believes from reengineering the production processes to enable ‘small quantities in many
varieties’, Toyota could compete more effectively in these challenging markets. Therefore,
the change of industry has cause Toyota to be more sensitive towards the quality of the final
products.

Next, The Toyota awareness towards quality involving the employee involvement and
empowerment. In 1999, more than 75,000 suggestions have been received by Toyota from
the 7,000 employees in United States. These recommendations and suggestion have
improved productivity, improved the quality, better safety, faster delivery, lower costs and
resulting a better customer satisfaction. Furthermore, employees find their work become
more easier and more enjoyable to be work on it. A satisfying and comfortable working
environment resulting to higher employee morale, job satisfaction and a lower turnover,

Lastly, Toyota awareness towards the quality in the modern business can be determine by
the customer perspectives. Toyota customer are the most important parts when it comes to
understanding the quality. Their views and their experiences in using Toyota vehicles will be
evaluated and improvements will be made. Toyota stated that the customer experiences in
using the vehicles will tell them whether the quality goals has been achieved or not and a
real-world information can be obtained to produce an even-better cars. The Toyota
customer has shared many remarkable stories about the reliability of their vehicles and the
special appeal that makes Toyota become more concern about people live. Toyota is always
ready to listen to the voices of their customers and pay an equal attention towards the
praise and criticism from the society.
