The compulsory retirement age of 63 years will be applicable to all grades of Medical Officers, including Medical Administrative Grade Medical Officers, who are formally appointed to the medical officer grades by the Public Service Commission or Health Service Committee. ‘Therefore 1. All grades of Medical Officers who reached the age of 61 years after 2021.04.05, and are willing to continue service in state health sector up to 63 years can continue to work at current stations, 2, However, above Medical Officers who have retired between 2021.04.05 and 2021.07.08, and wish to be reinstated, should submit their requests to Secretary, Ministry of Health through Deputy Director General ~ Medical Services 1 (for Administrative Grade Medical Officers) and Deputy Director General — Medical Services Il (for Grade Medical Officers). Such Medical Officers’ pension will be frozen from the date of resumption of duties and those officers will be placed at the last drawn salary step. BSS, gee Adexod DEE. All grade Medical Officers who are willing to retire at the age of 5: years are allowed to do so, according to the prevailing retirement guidelines. 4, Medical Officers who are occupying transferable posts can appeal at the age of 60 years to remain in the same post without applying for the next annual transfer. 5. From 2022 onwards, annual transfer procedure of Grade Medical Officers will be carried out considering the retirement age as 63 years. Further the conditions in the Circular No. 01- 22/2001 for Annual Transfers of Grade Medical Officers will be applied for the officers in transferable posts, 6. However, considering the exigencies of health services and ensuring equity of services Island wide, the Secretary, Ministry of Health has the authority to decide the placement of the Medical Officers whenever the above process is challenged.
