DEFINE RECRUITING. WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO TREAT RECRUITING AS PART OF
STRATEGIC HR PLANNING?

The Human Resource Department covers many areas, including Training and Development,
Employee Engagement, and Compensation and Benefits. One of the main areas of focus is
analyzing the requirements for a job, attracting employees to that job opening, selecting qualified
applicants, and integrating the most suitable applicant or the organization. Recruiting is defined
as the process of attracting a pool of qualified candidates for a position opening in a well-timed
and cost-effective approach.

The company’s greatest asset is its employees. Without the right employees, business plans and
ideas will be unsuccessful, and with the right employee’s performance, growth will increase.
Employees play a vital role in the organization’s goals and development, and therefore, it is
crucial to select the right person for the right job. Recruiting is becoming more important as the
labor market evolves. It serves as a critical strategic activity for the business.

Also, the HR manager must consider the effect of hiring the wrong candidate. With recruiting
being expensive, another issue is the cost of unfilled positions; hence, there is a need to develop
and implement a strong recruiting and selecting process. A solid strategy provides organizational
growth, reflects on company professionalism, and attracts and hires the right talent.

In conclusion, selecting the right employee is an important goal when it comes to recruiting.
Establishing the correct process can improve the consistency of choosing the right candidate and
eliminate the risk of bias and discrimination, enhancing the growth of the business. It is essential
to treat recruiting as part of strategic HR planning. Why? Because it encourages a range of
significant benefits, including gaining skilled and qualified employees, assuring cultural and
values fit, saving time and money, increasing employee satisfaction, and lastly, ensuring a
positive image for the organization.
