In color, the octopus is ruddy brown on its head and mantle, with a hint of purple tinting the backside
which is more obscured by shadow
Moving down the body, flecks of off-white begin appearing on its body, looking not wholly dissimilar to
growing mold on a burnt bread crust.
While mostly obscured, the underside of the octopus is orange, a vibrant shade more like cooling
magma than autumn leaves
Other notable bodily features include a brown-green funnel protruding from the center of the octopus,
and an increased density of whitish spots on an arm that is lightly coated in sand.
Seven suckers are also on this visible arm, smooth and with a subtle purple tint
Rough in texture, the octopus has cracked skin and wrinkled folds
With an alert posture, the octopus’ head is raised and the visible eye peering beyond the confines of the
cylinder
The cylinder appears to be a man-made pipe with a construction cone orange inside
A number of bivalve shells are littered around the mouth of the cylinder, indicating this is a residence
where feeding would occur
These shells are all split open, empty, and in some cases broken
Three of these shells are white and ovular, and four are a burnt orange hue with white stripes in a fan
shape.
