A. Title: Evaluate

1. Given the traditional and concept of literacy, how
literate are you?

-For me, I believe that I am an average literate

individual. I can easily recognize letters and words in
just a glimpse of reading. I can also understand the
meaning of what I have reading in various text books. I
can also manage decode and comprehend the words, phrases,
sentences and paragraphs by doing reading. But sometimes,
there are things to be considered when in terms in the
level of reading text books that is beyond on individuals
vocabulary and comprehension.

2. As a pre-service teacher, what kind of written materials

should you be able to read and understand? Are you
reading these materials? How well can you understand
them?

-I can easily read and understand hard copy textbooks and

digital textbooks. Materials that are written in hard
copy and digital copy. I usually read these kinds of
materials especially when needed. For me, I am an average
person in reading such reading materials that is under
the scope of my vocabulary, but beyond with that, I need
to do research to examine again the materials that I need
to understand.

3. Which of the new literacies are you knowledgeable of?

Which of the new literacies do you lack knowledge in?

-For me I learned something about the globalization and

multicultural literacies, social and financial
literacies, media and cyber/digital literacies which are
very common in the 21st century as far as I know. but I
think I lack knowledgeable in the Eco literacy and
artistic and creative literacy, and critical literacy. I
need to learn more about in this new literacy in order to
become knowledgeable in this sort of new literacies. This
will help my future career as a pre-service teacher.
