Assignment Description:
Write a screenplay for a narrative film of approximately 5 minutes. The screenplay should
have capacity to explore various MES elements both visual and aural, keeping in mind the
production guidelines.

Guidelines for Assignment:

1. Maintain an overall unity of purpose.

2. Stylistic choices should confirm to the form and content of the film/story.

3. Develop characters that are organic to the theme and story.

4. Script should trace the emotional journey of the character through images and sounds.

5. Creative use of dialogues for creating the mood.

Assessment Criteria:

1. The strength of the theme and it’s development into a script - 10

2. Structure of the script and its contribution to the theme - 15

3. Achievement of organic unity and balance between the various plot elements like
rhythm, pace, temporality, flash backs, narration, character development and scene
construction- 15
4. Effective use of dialogue - 10
