Questionnaire making for online survey:

You should be able to finalize your topic by now. The next step is to make questionnaire for your
survey.
To prepare the survey questions, you can follow these steps:
⮚ You need to be clear about your research topic and problem
⮚ Your survey questions should be related to that one problem
⮚ Predict your findings and think how your questions are going to get to that answer
⮚ Make a list of variables of interest
⮚ Formulate variables into questionnaire
⮚ Think about your population and samples
⮚ Now it’s time to prepare the questionnaire.
⮚ Please write around 10 to 15 questions for your survey
⮚ Keep it simple and closed. You might not need any open-ended questions for cross-sectional
research
⮚ After preparing the questionnaire check and revise. You might ask your one friend to take the
survey at first. Then make some changes if your questions are confusing or you are not getting
the answer you need for your research.
***The questionnaire should have sets of questions that can get answers to or explain other relevant
needs of that question. For example, if the topic is “Factors Associated with high-speed driving” …then
the set of questions can be:
a. Do you have a driving license? =Yes/No (assuming someone with a driving license should be aware of
driving rules)
b. Up to what class did you study? =Class 8/9/10….(assuming only literate drivers will be more aware of
driving rules and road signs on the road)
