Hence, mankind should always donate food. (Mahabharat) 48 Benefits of Annadan : When we donate food, Shri Annapurna Devi is pleased & bestows us with Her grace. The one donating obtains blessings in the form of good wishes from the recipient. 48 Who should donate food and how much ? : As per our Scriptures, Annadan is the duty of every householder who earns a livi \g and in whose house food is cooked. He should donate food in some form or the other as per his ability. 48 Annadan during Parvakal (Auspicious time) begets more benefits : Annadan during Parvakal such as Makarsankranti to Rathasaptami, Chaturmas, Religious and Holy festivals, Vrats, etc. begets more spiritual benefits. If done at a religious place, the benefits are still more. 4 Treat Annadanas your duty unto Dharma: Annadan begets the donor double the benefits; however, if done out of ego, the benefit is halved. Hence, donate as your duty unto Dharma. 4 The prayer donor should make : 0’ God ! You nurture us. It is by Your grace that | am getting the opportunity of Annadan, for which I am grateful. The residents here and those in the other Ashrams set up taking inspiration from Him are seekers who have dedicated their lives to serving the Nation & Dharma selflessly.
