Case study: Second option

Country: Russia
Russia is a country that extends in a large territory that is close to Europe.
Russia is very populated, in fact she has 142 million inhabitants, but the
population isn’t well distributed over the whole territory for example because
of the temperatures that vary depending on where you are located, especially
in a country like Russia. In fact the western part of Russia is well populated
because for example there are normal temperatures. Such as the city of Rostov
that is densely populated, in fact there are more than 1 million inhabitants
with a density of 3265,15 inhabitants per square kilometre. This city is densely
populated because, the temperatures are normal, it is located on the flat land,
so is easy to build houses, building, industries, airports and ports and at the
same time there is a high percentage of employment, so life easier. Instead the
eastern part of Russia is sparsely populated for the very low temperatures that
there are. For example Dikson, where there is a low population density,
because there are only 800 inhabitants with a density of 0,0024 inhabitants per
square kilometre, so is very difficult to build houses and move because of lack
of transport; the percentage of employment is very low and it is impossible to
cultivate because of the snow and for low temperatures that can reach -50°C!
These are the reasons why the distribution of the population in Russia is very
particular.
