Rodriner Billones BSEE 4S

1. How do you think women in music influence young women about empowering themselves?
It is known that it is very hard to be a woman in the music industry or any industry in general, so
seeing female musicians who are dominating the billboard and breaking records is a source of inspiration
for all the women spectating and listening to the music produced by these idols, thus resulting in making
women feel more empowered and confident with themselves.
2. Should there be a certain image for female artist in representing women empowerment? Why or why
not?
There should not be a fixed image for a female artist that represents women empowerment.
Setting a fixed standard will eliminate the diversity and uniqueness of each artist since they have their
own style, sexual preferences and characteristics which appeal to specific groups of women that can vibe
and relate to their songs. A fixed image for a female artist cannot please and make all women feel
empowered because some women might not like that certain image.
3. Give a song from female artists that promotes women empowerment. How did this song conveys
empowerment?
Little Me by Little Mix. This song is basically about what the girls wanted to tell themselves to do
when they were younger, they wanted to say who they wanted to be and to believe in yourself, be proud
for what you have and even what you don't. It is also telling us to speak up, and not let anyone tell us
were not good enough. To be who we are and not let anyone choose who we are. Tells that we are
beautiful and wonderful no matter what anybody tells us.
