Adding an IF Statement to your Rock Band Model

If Statements are fancy formulas which can be added to your

spreadsheet. They can be used to give the user simple messages.

These messages can, for example, tell the user if the band are
“Making a Profit” or “Making a Loss”.

Tasks:
 Open your Rock Band Model.

 Click in the Purple Cell and enter the following formula:

=IF(F23>0,”The band is making a profit”, “The band is making a
loss”)

 Alter the model so that the band is losing money and the message
should tell them they are making a loss.

 Alter the model so that the band is making money and the message
should tell them they are making a profit.

NOTE:
The message you use doesn’t really matter as long as you tell the band
when they are making money and when they losing money.
