Also, Dame Julie Andrews, who starred as the title character in Disney's live-action Mary Poppins (1964),

In one scene, Prince Edward rides a bus through Times Square. In the background a large poster can be
seen advertising the musical play "Wicked", which originally featured Idina Menzel, who played Nancy in
this movie, in the starring role. Furthermore, Stephen Schwartz, who was the lyricist for this movie, was
the composer and lyricist for Wicked (2009). The poster of Superman Returns (2006) can also be seen, in
which James Marsden appeared.

The scene director Kevin Lima found the most challenging to shoot was the musical number "That's How
You Know" in Central Park. The five-minute scene took seventeen days to finish due to the changing
weather, which allowed only seven sunny days for the scene to be filmed. The filming was also
hampered at times by Patrick Dempsey's fans.

Disney had originally planned to add Giselle to the Disney Princess line-up, as was shown at a 2007 toy
fair where the Giselle doll was featured with packaging declaring her with Disney Princess status, but
decided against it when they realized they would have to pay for life-long rights to Amy Adams' image.
