Knowledge of the Official language of the State/UT

This is further to our notice regarding mandatory knowledge of the Official language of the
State/UT for the post of Assistant, published by the different Divisions of Life Insurance
Corporation of India on 17.09.2019.

The knowledge of the Official language of the State/ UT under which the Division for which
candidate has applied, falls, will be tested by administering a qualifying test of 25 marks. A
candidate has to secure minimum 10 marks to qualify the test. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/
PwBD categories need to secure minimum 9 marks to qualify the test. Candidates not securing
minimum qualifying marks in the test for Official language of State, would be disqualified.

Marks obtained in this test will not be considered while preparing the ranking list of the
candidates.

Candidates who qualify the main examination and produce 10th or 12th standard marksheet/
certificate evidencing having studied the Official Language of the respective State/ UT under
which the Division for which he/ she is applying, falls, will not be required to go for this
language test. Further, candidates who apply for the Divisions which are under the States/ UTs
whose Official State language is Hindi or English, Official state language test will not be
administered.
