Discovered in 1930, Pluto is made up of mostly ice and rock.

The diminutive orb—

it's smaller than Earth's moon—had been long considered the ninth planet in our
solar system. But as more planetary objects of similar size were discovered in the
distant Kuiper belt, Pluto was reclassified as a dwarf planet in 2006.
