A Fine Gesture by Mrs K & An Anthill Under Threat

More troops that were allies with the Germans were coming into the ghetto. Most were Ukrainians and

they were sometimes even more brutal that the Germans. The Ukrainians would kill Jews for the sport.

They enjoyed watching people’s faces as they slaughtered their loved ones. The Ukrainians would pay

the Germans to kill some Jews. One time they shot a man in the gut just to see his face as he slowly

died. Warsaw had become even more of a hell now. The Germans had started to do selections of the

people of Warsaw. Those who were still fit would get to work at Warsaw or a labor camp. Those who

were old or not fit would be sent to the death camps. Day by day people were sent to different camps

and Wlady and his family were not chosen for selection yet. Then one day the Germans lined up

everyone and started picking. Wlady and his family were chosen to be moved to another camp. The

camp they were going to was called “Umschlagplatz” where they would work. Wlady and his family

were told to pack some stuff and then get on the truck.
