ABSTRACT

North Sulawesi province has local wisdom that has its own characteristics and uniqueness.
Starting from language, art, customs, etc. This local wisdom can be used as a source of learning
biology that can make it easier for educators to provide teaching by utilizing local wisdom in
Sulawesi Utara. Sources Learning biology is everything that comes from nature and the
environment around students that can make it easier for them to learn. Biology learning
resources can be designed by teachers as a form of learning innovation in accordance with
critical, creative, and innovative thinking for the effectiveness of biology learning. The
effectiveness of learning biology can be achieved if the teacher is able to provide learning
facilities for students both in class and outside the classroom. The idea of local wisdom is one
form of learning environment that can be innovated by teachers as a learning resource. The
purpose of this study is to identify what local wisdom exists in North Sulawesi that can be used
as an innovation source for Biology Learning.
