Consequently, JIS B 8266:2003 is partially replaced with this Amend- ment. For use these gaskets, confirm mvalue, svalue and the applicable temperature range. Gasket factor m shall apply onl the inside of the inner circumfe to the gasket which entirely exists in rence of the bolt holes. Overlapping section of the metal of the flat metal clad gasket marked with * shall not be faced with the nabbing (projected contact surface) shown in the seat shapes of 1c, 1d and 2 of Annex 3 table 3. This table shows commonly used materials and shapes of contact surfaces of gaskets with the values of m and y. Values of m and y shown in this table are recommendation and in case there is sufficient ground, these values may not necessarily be used. In the case of seal-welded flanges using no gaskets which have the seal ing effect by the seal welding, the gasket factor m and minimum design tightening pressure y may be assumed to be zero.
