I am angry at the book What are friends for because they completely copied my own book,

They have the same characters as my book, the main character does the same things as my main
character!

Sonia (the main character of What are Friends for) also wanted to write a book!

Her mom has her own shop and makes clothes totally copied from my story!

Welcome to Jubilee street!

There are 6 people in Lucas his family.

His father, Noah De Jong is a professional ice skater,

Lucas is very proud of him.

His dad drives a fast sports car.

His mum’s name is Sophie.

He has a sister, Eva,

and a baby brother, called Finn.

And we mustn’t forget kitty the cat and ruff the dog.

Today is a busy day fir the Biggins family.

They’re moving house!

Their old house is too small for them now,

It’s in another part of Den Haag,

South of the river Vliet.

“All loaded!” says Henk.

“Have we forgotten anything?” mum asks.

Matt and his dad check the house

“No there’s nothing left. We’re ready to go.” Dad calls.

The removal men close up the van.

Daan looks at his Watch “Qaurter past eleven, time to go!

I think we’ll be at your new address in about two hours.”

They’re all helping removal men,

Henk and Daan, to load the van.

What are we going to do with the dog and the cat?” Dad asks.

“We can’t take both of them in the car.”

“The dog’s are to big – but the cat can travel in the cab with us,” says Daan

“But you must put her in a basket.

And what about that football, young man?

Shall we put it in the can?”

Lucas shakes his head, “No I will take it myself.”

Lucas says goodbye to his friends.

“I will miss you Bram and you to Vince.

Send me a card, Bram when you make

The junior ‘A’ team. Promise?”

Vince and Bram are members of the Highbury football club.

The friends have the same dream:

To be professional footballers and play for England.

The removal van is driving away.

“see you in the Jubilee Street,” call the men.

“Don’t be late!” shouts dad.

The van makes a lot of noise.

“Hurry up, Eva, take Ruff on the lead.

Move up Lucas!” Dad says.

“You can sit in front.

Your mum will sit in the back, with Finn and Eva,
Eva, take good care of the dog

He must stay on the floor.

Everybody ready? Off we go!”

“As soon as we’re settled in,

We’ll find you a new football Club, Lucas.”

Lucas is thinking of his old friends.

“I shall miss Bram and Vince”

“You’ll find new friends,” says dad

“There’s a park near Jubilee Street.

You can practise there to stay on form.”

It’s a long drive form their old house in Hogenberg

To their new house in Tottenham.

The shortest way is trough the centre of Den Haag,

But that takes much longer because you always get stuck in traffic jam.

So Mr Biggins takes the Circular Road.

“Look, Dad! Wembley Stadium’s that way!”

“It’s your big dream to play there one day, isn’t it?”

Ruff pulls Eva towards the nearest lamp-post.

Dad unlocks the front door.

“Come on, Eva and Lucas, have a look around,” he says.

Their footsteps sound hollow in the empty rooms.

“I can see the park from this window,” shouts Lucas.

“May i have this room Dad?”

“I don’t know about your mother’s plans. Just ask her.”

It’s almost one o’clock when they arrive at their new address”

Number 7, Jubilee Street, Tooting South Den Haag.

“I hope the removal men arrive soon,” says Mum.

“I could do with a cup of tea. And I must change Finn’s nappy.”

“Don’t worry, they won’t be long.”

Baby Finn says nothing. He is fast asleep

Jubilee Street is a quiet street,

There’s not much traffic.

“Now where’s the removal van?” Dad wonders.

“It’s a nice day, let’s wait outside .” Mum says

She sits on the steps

“I’m really a bit tired. Finn’s getting heavy.”

Lucas walks around, bouncing his ball.

“Eva can you throw the ball?

I’ll try to head it back.”

Just when, two boys and a girl walk past.

They see Lucas head the ball

“That’s not bad!”

A curly-haired boy jumps up

And catches the ball before Eva can get it.

“Are you moving into this house?” he asks.

“Yes we are waiting for the removal van.

I am Lucas de Jong and this is my sister, Eva.”

“My name’s Tobias, Tobias Wilsterman.

They are They are Sam and Sara’s Parkins.

That’s a nice ball. It’s much better than mine!

Would you like to play football with us?

Lets go to the park.”

“May I play in the park with them, Mum?” Lucas asks.

“I think so,” she says and looks at Dad.

Sara points at Eva.

“She can come too, if she wants to.”

“All right,” Dad answers. “Enjoy yourselves.

But remember – we’ll need you two to help unload

The stuff off the van. When it arrives!”

The children cross the road to the park.

Lucas and Sara are going to play against Tobias and Sam.

“Listen” Tobias says

“You two must try to score against us.

We’ll change sides every ten minutes .

Have you got a watch, Eva?”

Eva is referee

“Sure.” She blows her whistle and the game begins

Lucas kicks off.

Sam and Tobias play well,

But they often lose the ball to Lucas.

He shows them a trick or two.

But it’s Sara who scores one goal after another!

After the game they sit down on the grass.

“Is there a football club around here?” Lucas asks.

“I’m member of the Jubilee Rangers.

I play in the second junior team,” Tobias says.

“My dad coaches our team.

He played for Arsenal once.”

Just then, they hear a shout.

“Hi, Lucas! Hi Eva! Hi kids!”

It’s Lucas dad, out for a walk with Ruff.

“I’m looking for a phone box.

Do you know where I can find one?”

“We’ll show you,” says Tobias.

“There’s still no sign of the removal van.

I’m going to call up Speedy Removals

And find out why it’s so late.”

The phone box is down the far end of the street.

Mr De Jong presses some coins into the slot and dials

“Hello. Speedy Removals?”

It’s Jack De Jong here.

Now, what’s happened to this van of yours?

We’ve been waiting for hours!”

Lucas and his friends are waiting outside the phone box.

Suddenly, Tobias remembers the time.

“Quarter to four! I must be off super fast!”

“Why the hurry?” Lucas asks.

“I must do my homework.

If I get another bad report,

My dad will take me out of the team. See you!”

Lucas dad steps out of the phone box.

“No luck,” he sighs “No one knows where the van is!”

“Newer mind the van, Dad. What about some food?”

Dad taps his tummy. “Are you peckish too?”

“I’m starving,” says Lucas “I could eat a horse!”

“Is there a chip shop near here?” asks Dad.

“Yes Mr De Jong , it’s round the corner,” says Sara

Dad looks at Sara and Sam. “Would you like some chips too?”

Sam nods, but Sara says, “No thank you Mr De Jong

We’re having tea when Dad comes home.

But we can show Lucas the shop first.”

“Hello Sam and Sara. How are you today?”

Then the shopkeeper looks at Lucas.

“I haven’t seen him before. A new friend of yours?”

“Yes, this is Lucas. Mr Jansen.

His family are going to live in Jubilee Street.”

“Ah! New customers! Welcome to the neighbourhood!

“What can I do for you, young man?”

“Four large portions of fish and chips please,

With bread and butter and mushy peas.”

“Coming right up!”

“we’ll see you after tea,” Sara says.

“Bye for now!”

Lucas carries the parcels of fish and chips

Back to 7, Jubilee street.

The De Jong family sits down in the empty living room

With their backs against the wall.

Mum takes rug from the car and puts Finn on it.

“The chips smell lovely,” she says.

Eva lick her fingers “They taste lovely too!”

The doorbell rings.

Lucas jumps up. “I’ll answer it!”

It’s Sara and Sam. But they’re not alone.

They’ve brought their parents with them

“Tea up!” says Mr de Vries.

He’s carrying a large tray.

“Come in please,” says Lucas. “We’re all in the living-room.

“Mum, Dad it’s Sara and Sam, with their parents.”

“Welcome to Jubilee Street!” says Mrs de Vries.

“We heard about your removal problems,

So we’ve brought you a nice pack of stroopwafels

“It’s the Dutch answer to any problem!” Mr de Vries jokes

“Thank you!” says Mum. “That’s just what I needed!”

As she pours the tea, the doorbell rings again.

Lucas and his dad rush to the door.

It’s the removal men.

“We went to the wrong house.

Sorry…” Henk says.

“The wrong house, what do you mean?”

“We went to Jubilee Street in East 1.

Then the van broke down and we got lost…”

“Better late then never!” Dad says.

“Come on. Let’s get organized,”

He puts an armchair at the bottom of the steps.

“Sophie, sit down here with Finn.

You’re the boss!” Just tell us where to put the stuff.”

“All the boxes are labelled, Daan

“Living-room, Kitchen , Bathroom…”

“Bedroom 2? Where’s that?” asks Lucas

“That’s your bedroom. The one overlooking the park.”

“Hooray!” cries Lucas. “Just the room I wanted.”

Eva is happy with her room, too.

“Can I switch the telly on, Mum?” Lucas asks.

“There’s a Euro Cup match on tonight.”

“You and your soccer!” she says.

“Dad may I join the Jubilee Rangers?”

We’ve only just moved in.”

“Yes,” Lucas grins, “and already I feel at home.”
