Neuro- ICU
Day 1

I have always been curious about what the nurses do in ICU unit. Despite this pandemic, they
have given us a chance to have a glimpse of a situation in ICU unit. From there I learned to apply the
different knowledge and skills that I have learned in our lecture portion especially the topics regarding
neuro. Though I find it hard because we can not have an actual situation and we have to use our
imagination in doing some parts of the requirements like thinking of what interventions in nursing care
plan would suit the situation of the patient in the given scenario.

But still, despite the hardship encountered for day 1 I am still thankful for the effort of our
department just to give us a sight of what do nurses do in neuro- ICU and I am hoping that there will be
that day when we do not have to do it online and we will be able to interact with real patients in the unit.
As it is said in Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 that there is a time for everything and that the plan of God for us is to
prosper; this verse gives me hope that one day this pandemic will come to its end and we could have a
normal life again to also enhance more our skills as nurses through face-to-face contact with patients.
