ABB’s new range of phase shifter products offers a safe and
quick solution to the problem with wrong phase sequence in
an electrical installation.
If you come to a building site as a contractor with your elec-
trical three phase equipment (pump, motor etc) and you plug
in to one of the socket outlets provided at the site distribution
board and find that your motor is turning the wrong way.
You now have these options:
1) Rewire the site distribution board. (You will have to cut the
power to all the equipment connected to that distribution
board, and it will take quite some time to do the job)
2) Rewire your plug. (It will take some minutes, and quickly
wear out the plug connected to your equipment)
3) Change phase sequence in your phase shifter plug.
(30 seconds and no power cut)
