Dear Parents:
I write to you as the first quarter of our school year draws to a close. As you might know from your
sons/daughters, our mid semester break starts on Friday afternoon October 8 with classes
resuming Wednesday October 20. Our residential students, if they so choose, can stay on campus
without charge. The cafeteria will provide meals and students will be checked in to their room at
11:00pm every evening. During the day students can check out and go off campus in the Arusha
area.
If your son/daughter is leaving campus for the break, they need a parent note sent to their
Resident Parents confirming that they have permission to leave campus. The names and emails
of the resident parents are below. If you do not know the residence house your child resides in,
you can send me the email with your approval.
The next break after midterm is the semester break starting Thursday December 9 with school
resuming Monday January 10. As per United World College policy, our campus will shut down
during the semester break and we expect residential students to arrange for their accommodation
during this time.
However, we understand that some students cannot return home for the vacation and we can help
to find accommodation (with a cost to students) for students that have no other alternative. I have
spoken to students about this so they can start to plan where they will spend their time during the
semester break.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and thank you for the opportunity to work with your
children.
Regards
