Crosscut Sled

48” X 48” X 3/4” Plywood


(You’ll also need some 1/4” plywood for the runners)

Crosscut Sled

Cut two runners to fit in the miter slots. Test until you get a
good fit and they slide easily with no side-to-side play.

Cut a plywood board to whatever size you want your sled.

Set the runners in saw’s the miter slots, proud of the table’s
surface, apply glue, and set the board on them.

Cut 4 plywood strips and glue together into pairs.

Glue rear fence to rear edge of sled.

Crosscut Sled

With the sled in your saw’s miter slots, make a cut about
halfway to the front.

Crosscut Sled
With your saw unplugged, raise the saw blade and use a square to
set the front fence at a 90 degree angle to the blade.

Crosscut Sled

Drive one 1-1/4” screw to act as a pivot for


adjusting the fence.

Once the fence is square, drive three more screws


to secure the fence.

Crosscut Sled

Stack three boards and screw them to the base, in


front of the fence to act as a blade guard.

Attach two strips from fence to fence.
