3 a)Here are some pictures of common situations. Talk to each other about
how stressful you think each one can be, then, choose the three that you think
are the most stressful. It is not necessary to agree

Picture 1

There is a father playing with his daughter and they seem to be having fun.
However, taking into consideration that the child is very little, the parent needs
to keep a watchful eye on her and this could produce some stress, if it lasts
longer.
I’ve never experienced something similar.

Picture 2

This picture presents a dentist and a patient. The doctor is carrying out some
treatment. Going to the dentist is, for most people, a stressful experience
because of the pain they might feel.
I have been in this situation and I felt rather stressed.

Picture 3

The woman in this picture seems to be in traffic. We don’t know if she is

driving or she is caught in a traffic jam, but she is also having lunch, probably
because she doesn’t have enough time to do this properly at home or in a
restaurant. Maybe she is in a hurry and she feels stressed about the fact that
she can’t arrive on time where she is supposed to go. This situation can be
stressful enough.
I have never been in this situation.

We can see several students taking an exam. This situation can be very
stressful because if you aren’t well-prepared you may fail it.
I’ve been in this situation and I felt stressed, but in the end everything was
fine.

There are several people in a hurry. They look stressed enough probably
because they are late for something important.
I’ve been in a similar situation and it was stressful.

Picture 6

This picture seems to present somebody attending a job interview. Such

interviews could represent a significant source of stress. Applicants may feel
nervous because they know they have to answer the potential employer’s
questions. Some of these questions can be difficult.

This picture presents a man, probably a politician, delivering a speech in front

of a crowd. He looks rather tense, maybe because of the difficult situation.
