Expression of Intention merupakan suatu istilah ekspresi atau ungkapan yang sering digunakan
dalam bahasa Inggris untuk menyatakan suatu niat, rencana atau sesuatu yang ingin dicapai atau

The following are main expression of stating intention ( kita bisa menggunakan expressi

Example :
1. I will improve my English.
2. I’m going to a bookstore.

The following are the function of phrases used to give information about the intention of
doing something.
No Phrases Function
1. I will ( verb ) - at the moment we make a new decision or plan. The
thought has just come into our head
- instant decision
- plans decided at the moment of speaking
2. I’m going to ( verb ) - when we have made the decision
- when we want to talk about a paln for the future
- this plan does not have to be near future
- to talk about plans decided before the moment of
speaking
- activity or plan already in thought or motion or
intention related to present time
- this is about to happen
- an activity that the person is about to do
3 I would like to/ I’d like to - talk about dreams and polite
3 ( verb ) - it lets someone know what you would be/ interest in
doing something. This can be a physical, mental or verbal
action
- to talk about what people want to do or are willing to
do
4. I would rather ( verb) - when we choose between two options. Example: I
than…. would rather stay at home than go fishing
