Short term actions that could be taken to avoid the incident could be as below;

1. The area must be secured and incidents must be investigated properly so that immediate
actions could be taken to avoid any accident in future.
2. The inexperienced worker at the entry gate must be replaced with experienced worker
immediately to allow people only when the controls are in place.
3. Members of the public must not be allowed to lift heavy bags more than capacity as the
member of public was lifting a 50 Liter heavy bag.
4. There must be always a center worker available to aid the members of public in emptying their
waster and guide them.
5. The project and height above the ground of the skip must be reduced below 1 meter for easy
deposition of the waste.
6. Manual handling of the load must be avoided by the public without any aid and beyond their
capacity.
