G. CONTRIBUTION TO NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL LIFE

My area of interest and specialization is food microbiology. My research focus is on how to
ensure that foods are safe for consumption and find better ways to prevent and treat foodborne
diseases. I have co-authored with some colleagues within the University and outside,
articles/papers that have been published in peer reviewed journals. Further, I have attended and
contributed in national conferences wherein latest innovations and ideas in the field of
Microbiology were discussed with fellow participants at the conferences.
I have impacted positively on the careers of the numerous microbiology graduates that have
passed through my academic teachings, research and Internship supervisions. Some of the
students that have passed through me have gone for post-graduate studies in renowned
Universities and Research Institutes both in Nigeria and abroad.
