1 CORTHIANS 13:2

“And though I have git of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have
all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing”

PRINCIPLE: Power without love is nothing in god’s economy

APPLICATION:
A gift exercised apart from love is nothing”
We misplace our priorities if we measure our significance by the gift we possess. Power without love is
nothing. This is a special warning for those with outstanding public gifts. Power lust ultimately is nothing
in god’s economy. We most direct everything we do by love for people. We must control both the
preaching and the exercise of our gifts by love. Love is the key, The main thing in ministry.
Ministry is not about us but them.

“I have the gift of prophecy”

Prophecy is the ability to expound the word of GOD.
Prophecy is the ability to receive knowledge directly from GOD by the divine revelation.
Prophecy is the ability to know divine truth apart from human knowledge.

“And understand all mysteries and all knowledge”

“Mysteries are truths not hither to revealed to the point of understanding.
“UNDERSTANDING” is insight and “KNOWLEDGE” is the facts of divine revelation.
Capacities of understanding and knowledge hold the great danger of arrogance and pride if not held in
humility.
“And though I have all the faith, so that I could remove mountains”
A mountain is a worldwide symbol for something immovable. It was a figure of speech for doing the
impossible. Faith enough to move a mountain is hyperbole for great faith.

“But have not love, I am nothing”

Prophecy, Understanding, and Faith without Love are empty.

PROVERBS 3:5-6
Take a deep look what it means to truly trusting GOD, leaning not on your own understanding, and
acknowledge and letting him direct your path.
Trust in the lord with all your heart (PROVERBS 3:5)
Trusting GOD means that we have complete confidence in his wisdom, power, and goodness. It is the
firm belief of GOD’S reliability, truth, ability, and strength.

In PSALM 84:11
For the lord GOD is a sun and shield; The lord will give grace and glory; No good thing will he withhold
from those who walk uprightly.
We trust GOD because we know that whatever he does and whatever happens in our lives, He is always
in control. Everything he does is for our own good even at times when we don’t understand.
That’s the level of trust that we have. It should be unconditional. We don’t just trust GOD in good times,
But also in the bad times.
It is easy to believe GOD when all things are going according to the plan. The real test happens when
things are falling apart. When we don’t understand things.
It is difficult to trust GOD when we don’t know what lies ahead. However, if we trust GOD, we will see
once when were out of the darkness and into the light. We can look back and gain a better understanding.
We will soon see why things happened the way they are and all things will suddenly make sense.
GOD can’t direct our path if we don’t even seek his will and purpose in our life. GOD can’t teach us his
wisdom if we don’t even want to be taught.
When we have the willing heart to follow GOD naturally, GOD can now better direct our path.
GOD is powerful, but GOD will never force us to follow him. He won’t shove his way of life in our
throat. He won’t treat us like robots.
GOD wishes nothing but for our own goods. We have a choice on how we must live our lives. We can
either choose life or death, blessing or cursing.
GOD’s desire is for us to choose life!
For me the best thing about GOD!!, GOD is directing our path that we can have the confidence that the
path we are treading is leading us to life. We don’t have to worry whether we are on the right track or not.
As long as GOD is directing us, we are in good hands.

MY FINA L WORDS FOR THIS REFLECTION OF

PROVERBS 3:5-6
It is my sincerest desire that we have a better insight on what it means to trust GOD, we must not lean on
our own understanding, acknowledging GOD, and letting GOD direct our path.
