CT SCAN OF THE HEAD & BRAIN:
Scanning Protocol:
Axial images were obtained without intravenous contrast.
Findings:
There is evidence of |'l defined small and confluent hypodense areas are seen in deep white
matter white matter of frontoparietal lobes bilaterally and extending into left basal ganglia
region representing deep white ischemic changes due to small vessels disease (FAZEKAS.
MN)
Mild generalised brain atrophic changes are seen
There is no evidence of intracranial bleed or mass
No midline shift is seen
No hydrocephalus is seen.
The brain stem and posterior fossa show no abnormality
Conclusion:
There is evidence of ll defined small and confluent hypodense areas are seen in deep
white matter white matter of frontoparietal lobes bilaterally and extending into left basal
ganglia region representing deep white ischemic changes due to small vessels disease
(FAZEKAS III).
Mild generalised brain atrophic changes are seen.
There is no evidence of intracranial bleed or mass.
