Binge-

it-Out
Which character from the movie did
you like the most and why?
The character I liked most in the movie was William
Kamkwamba. Despite all the hardships that he faced, he was
self-motivated, determined to achieve his goal. He is also
resourceful, he finds books in his school's library and studies
them himself. He already was interested in electronics as he
used to repair radios. Even though he was unable to attend
school due to the lack of funds he read books and figured it out
himself. When he was rejected by his father about his windmill
idea, he didn't stop believing in himself and worked hard for
what he believed in.
What are the prominent values you
inculcated during the movie?
The one thing that stood out to me was how the Kamkwamba family valued
education overall. They were very ardent to send their daughter to University.
Agnes wanted her daughter to be educated and get a good job. She even wanted
William to continue with his schooling but due to unfortunate circumstances, he
couldn't.
The other value was that William always found a way to recycle things, to get back
life into them. He would often search the junkyard and find old components which
he could put to use. He used batteries from the scrap to make the windmill.
Which character did you relate to the most?

Honestly, I couldn't relate to any of the characters. After watching the

movie, I felt really blessed and lucky to have never had to go through
the hardships that the Kamkwamba family and the Malawians faced. I
realized that I am really privileged and have always given things on a
platter. The struggles of the Kamkwamba family were much
significant than anything I've ever faced.
