Hôtelverse

Case Study
Alfredo Linguini has inherited a world-class hotel from his father, Gusteau.
Gusteau had left a great legacy behind him, making “La Ratatouille” one of the
most exotic hotels in Paris. People visited the hotel from far and near for the
“true Paris experience” as Gusteau liked to call it.
When Alfredo inherited the hotel from his father, he wanted to make some
changes. While he respected the legacy his father had left behind, he felt the
hotel was way behind the times. The competition was getting fierce and La
Ratatouille was still working in the same old-fashioned way. He consulted his
business partner, Remy and they agreed that they needed to modernize the
facilities if they wished to survive in the market. At the same time, they needed
something that differentiated them from the rest of the players emerging in
the market.
Alfredo knew that customers today look for more than just comfort and luxury.
Sustainability was the need of the hour. In order to survive in the long run, they
would have to ensure that they were greener.
Alfredo was a very ambitious man. He wished to leave the mark of “La
Ratatouille” on the global map and wanted to start expanding immediately. But
Remy felt it was not the right time to do so. He believed that they should first
focus on Paris and then slowly expand.
Alfredo and Remy have hired you as a consultant to help them decide how to
take care of their modernization and sustainability needs while keeping the
costs to the minimum. You need to describe the complete implementation of
the strategies you recommend. You also need to help them understand the
feasibility of expanding globally. You also need to come up with a marketing
strategy that would help distinguish La Ratatouille from other high-end
premier hotels that are all moving towards sustainability.
Please ensure that the costs are realistic.
