Dear Friends,

It gives me great pleasure to introduce to you the Clare Hall Boat Club. I hope you
will find this brochure interesting and that it will encourage you to support our club.

Since its creation in 1995 Clare Hall Boat Club has quickly established itself as
one of the most dynamic of the 32 college clubs that compete on the river Cam.
While the Clare Hall Boat Club may be young, it has become the largest and most
inclusive sporting club within the College. In recent years the Club has
experienced a string of remarkable successes, seeing three of its members go on
to row in the world famous Cambridge vs Oxford boat race, as well as numerous
wins for its men’s and women’s teams in Cambridge University events.

In order to maintain and build on its excellent achievements, the Club needs
urgent funding for various vital items, including a new men’s boat. We have there-
fore launched this appeal, and I'm delighted to say that the Governing Body of
Clare Hall has now agreed to provide up to £6,000 of matching support to help
support the boat club to achieve its goals.

I warmly invite you to explore this brochure and hope it will prove useful in
detailing the various sponsorship options available to you.

New Boat (£12,000)

Your company would help to finance a much needed new boat to replace our ageing
Men’s first boat. After many repairs the men’s boat can no longer be taken apart for
racing off the Cam. A new boat would enable us to race at other events across the
country and thereby make your logo even more visible.

New Blades (£250 per blade, £2,000 per Crew)

Your company would help to fund the purchase of much needed new racing blades
for the crews. Second only to the boat, the blades are a key component in ensuring
an effective racing VIII. Our current racing blades are over six years old and due to
their degrading condition make it difficult to row efficiently and competitively. Your
company’s logo or name would appear on each of the eight blades. These blades are
highly visible parts of crew equipment and feature prominently on team photos.

Coaching (£25 per outing, £600 per term, £1,800 per year)
Rowing being a technically demanding sport, regular coaching is an absolute neces-
sity. Your company would help to provide a dedicated coach to train the Men’s and
Women’s boats to speed their development into the racing season. At the moment we
rely heavily on the generous help of our past rowing stars, and as such we cannot
guarantee a consistent coaching programme. Your sponsorship would help to secure
a dedicated coach for the crew to train us both on and off the river.

sports.”

New Kit (£1,500 per Crew (8 Rowers 1 Cox))

Your company would help make our crews look and feel more professional by engen-
dering team spirit and recognisability when racing and training. Specialised rowing kit
is necessary for rowers to cope with the variable weather that the British Isles throws
at us; and being highly specialised it is unfortunately expensive.

Club kit is perhaps the most visible part of crew equipment. Worn both on and off the
river it would enhance your visibility as a company throughout Cambridge, London
and other cities that are regularly visited by our rowers. We wear our rowing kit with
pride, and would be equally proud to sport your logo and support our partnership.

Costs of these and other alternative sponsorship packages can be customised to suit
to your organisation’s needs and financial constraints.
