Adverbs What are they? An adverb is a word that describes an action word, a descriptive word or another adverb, There are five kinds of adverbs: Rules 1. Adverb of manner 2. Adverb of Time 3. Adverb of Place 4, Adverb of Frequency 5. Adverb of Degree Rule 1: Adverbs of manner tell us how something happens. For Example, He swims welt How does he swim??? the answer is ‘well ‘This is your adverb of manner @ Rule 2: Adverb of Time. Adverbs of time tell us when an action happened For Example, Red Riding Hood went to grandmother's house yesterday. When did she go to grandmother's house? The answers ‘yesterday’. Thia is the adverb of time. ‘© Rule 3: Adverbs of place. Adverbs of place tell us where something happens. For Example, I built a sand castle nearby. Where did I build a sand castle???
