Is absolute certainty attainable in math?

Absolute certainty in mathematics is a concept that has sparked many debates amongst

mathematicians all around the world, and the answer to the question is not a simple yes or no. In

fact, the answer fully depends on the case at hand. In some cases, absolute certainty is attainable

in mathematics, while in others, it is far from attainable. For instance, Pythagoras theorem is a

geometrical pattern discovered by the Greek philosopher between the hypotenuse and the two

other sides of a right triangle. We are absolutely certain of this relationship as it has physical

proof in real life and can be proven easily by the measurements of a right triangle. However,

some other cases are not so clear. Integration is a part of calculus used to calculate the area under

a curve from one point on it to another. This is not so easily provable in real life as it would take

infinitely many rectangles to find the exact area under the curve (as rectangles have an easily

calculatable area). The concept of infinity is not something attainable in real life; therefore,

integration is not absolutely certain. Furthermore, absolute certainty is attainable in theoretical

mathematics, as values and rules are set by humans and are usually perfect values. In real life, on

the other hand, the measurement of these values could not be fully accurate, leading to the

absence of absolute certainty.
