“Decrypting Crypto”

On the 25th day of September, a webinar entitled “Decrypting Crypto” took place. All of
the 3rd year and 4th year students were required to attend the said activity. Being the LCCM JPIA
as the partner of the event it was a great honor to experience, to learn and have the knowledge
about the cryptocurrencies. The event started at 1 o’clock in the afternoon and ended around 5
o’clock in the afternoon. There were 3 speakers, the first one was Mr. Angelo Mendoza, he
talked about “What Crypto Currency” is and he had delivered it well. After the first speaker there
were an ice breaker and it was entitled “Two Truths and A Lie” and one of our JPIA Officer, Ms.
Rachelle Pagaduan, won the second place.

Then, the event proceeds with the second speaker, Mr. Kevin Eniego, he is a current AVP
Marketing of Philippine Digital Asset Exchange (PDAX) with 10 years marketing experience.
He’s been into cryptocurrency since 2019 and Yes! He is also the Top 100 player in Axie
infinity. He talked about how we can earn in cryptocurrency. After his talk, the second ice
breaker commenced entitled “Guess the Tiktok Challenge” and three of our very own JPIAns
won, namely Criscel Javier, Rich Pagaduan and Ericka Mae Landingin. Afterwards, the event
has coming to its end. The last speaker was Mr. Remy Manuel Pendon, he was a former Tax
Associate at SGV and a current Full-Time faculty member of FEU-Diliman. He is also a member
of the UP Bar Exam Operations Committee Taxation Law Team and a CPA reviewer who
handle taxation subject. He talked about and taught us on how taxation works on
Cryptocurrency.

It was a great privileged to attend this seminar because it was timely since a lot of us
where being caught by the increasing numbers who desire to have or join the crypto world. This
event helped to have the right thoughts, mindset and decision before entering the crypto world, to
be mindful of something we will be experiencing in the future.
