Load sharing at parallel Run. (Load Deviation)

1) Symmetric Load sharing (Proportional Load Sharing)
When two (2) or more generators are running and load sharing has not been requested, the load is
shared equally between the generators according to the capacity of each generator.
In parallel running, alarm is activated by PMS when one generation load differ from others more than
10% (Deviation set value are adjustable in PMS)
1.1.2. Stand-by DG start Function
(1) Black out on HV MSBD: 6.3KV HVSB No.1 Bus dead and No.2 Bus dead
(2) Bus abnormal
- Voltage high-high or low-low (+/-5%)  Alarm activate, VCBs open & DGs Stop (Black out) then
Starting black out recovery logic.
- Frequency low (-2.5%)  Stand-by DG start and Synchronization
- Frequency high-high or low-low (+/-5%)  Alarm activate, VCBs open & DGs Stop (Black out)
then Starting black out recovery logic.
- Detecting position for voltage high/high-high/low/low-low and frequency high/high-high/low/low-

1.1.3. Load Dependent Auto – Start/Stop Control

- Load Dependent Start;

(1) All DG is selected in “REMOTE” mode, Synchronizing panel is selected “AUTO” mode.
(2) ST-BY DG's will be started by PMS when the total average power has exceeded a certain load (Load
Start) for a certain time (Load Start Time).
The ST-BY DG will start and connect to the HV MSBD and share load symmetrically in
Droop control.
- Load Start: Start limit 1: 85% / Start limit 2 : 90%
* When the load is up consistently by 90% (for 10 seconds), ST-BY 2 DG will be started.
- Load Start Delay:
Starting time delay 1 : 30 seconds / Starting time delay 2 : 10 seconds

- Load Dependent Stop;

(1) This program will handle the stop alarm of DG with the lowest priority when the load has
been below the low load stop limit (20%) longer than defined by the low load stop time
(3min)
(2) When the load is below 20% limit (Low Power Disconnection), the generator breaker will be opened
by PMS.
(3) The engine will be kept running for Cool Down time before the stop. Then, engine will be auto-stopped
by PMS
- Low Load Stop : Low power limit: 20%
- Stop Alarm Time Delay Power : Load stop delay: 10min.

 Setting value and delay time can be adjusted by parameter input.

(1) When the D/G is started/stopped by manual, Automatic load sharing can be done

- Stop unload operation function

(1) It is different from load dependent stop function
(2) In case of two(2) sets of D/G run, if consumed capacity is fully covered with only one (1) D/G, one
(1) D/G shall be stopped with load shifted automatically.
1.1.4. Load Shedding & Preferential trip (PT)

• Load shedding & Preferential trip(PT) test

- Load shedding signal transfer to SWBD from PMS.
; Load shedding : DG Load shedding signal available from D/G or D/G incoming VCB abnormal
trip suddenly.
- PT signal is available when the total load of running generator reach 100% for five (5) seconds
comparing total capacity of running generator or D/G incoming VCB abnormal trip suddenly.

1.1.6. Heavy consumer starting
1) Scope
- PMS calculate remain power before heavy consumer start.
- If the remain power is insufficient for heavy consumer starting, ST-BY DG will be
automatically started by PMS. And then, “Starting DG incoming VCB” is closed by PMS
after synchronizing.
- If the remain power is enough for heavy consumer starting, heavy consumer is started
without ST-BY DG start.
- Although the heavy consumer calculation is completed, the heavy consumer failure alarm is
to be indicated on MIMIC when the heavy consumer cannot start
- Required power can be adjusted by parameter input.

2) Condition
- All DG is selected in “ Remote” mode on DG local panel, synchronizing panel is selected in
“Auto” mode
- DG incoming VCBs are selected in “Remote” mode on HVSB
- VSCs(Vacuum Switch Contactor) for each heavy consumer are selected in “Remote” mode

FSO’s PMS. And then, FSO’s PMS calculating remain load with actual/using load (KW) & Maxi
mum load /Capacity (KW).
- The FSO’s stand-by generator is automatically started by PMS in order to parallel running with
DP4 power when remain load is reached at 85% of total remain load on DP4 power.
- In this regard remain load parameter (%) can be adjusted by parameter input on PMS.
- For easy understanding, please refer to below graph.

1.1.8. Isochronous mode.
1) Scope
- DGs can parallel running when Isochronous mode.
- When Isochronous mode selected, each D/G start/stop command can available from PMS.
- There is no feedback signal for Isochronous mode from DG.

1.1.9. PMS shall have Symmetric and Asymmetric load sharing mode. And load sharing can be
carried out by PMS as per selection of Symmetric or Asymmetric mode
1.1.10. Reactive (KVAR) Unbalance alarm set point will be informed after discussing with Generator
engine Maker.
Reactive (KVAR) load sharing function is to be added. In this regard, please refer to below
I/O concerning the reactive power signal of each D/G.

- No.1 D/G Reactive power : 910-XI-251

- No.2 D/G Reactive power : 910-XI-256
- No.3 D/G Reactive power : 910-XI-261
- No.4 D/G Reactive power : 910-XI-266

1.1.11. When all DG running and voltage/frequency High-High/Low-Low condition, the logic and
sequence are to be verified and installed by KM.

1.1.12. Breaker contol condition such as local/remote/auto to be indicated on the MIMIC.
