What have you learn from this weeks topic?

and in what way will you apply your learnings from in your day to day life?

I learned this week the importance of the two way system of taking care of the patient and
yourself. You have to prioritize the patient and adjust to their position in order to ensure that the
injury will not be more fatal. I also learned the importance of gravity when handling injuries, so it
is really important to assist the injury properly to avoid any insult in the injury. Also to adjust to
their position so that you will avoid any back pain or any pain to yourself. Ensuring a clean glove
to wear and to avoid any transfer of microorganism to the patient that may add insult to the
injury. Lastly, is to check the surroundings or checking if the scene is safe when you are trying to
assist a patient with injury.

I can apply them in my daily life by using the right body mechanics to ensure safety for myself
and reduce any pain in my body. Ensuring a clean environment is important to avoid harbor of
microorganisms that may cause harm to you and to others. Also a safe environment is best
when assisting in injuries to ensure both safety for yourself and to the other rescuers that would
arrive at the scene. This can be used in my day to day life by ensuring that my place is a safe
environment for living.
