Tutorial 1:

You can include suitable images and URLs of short YouTube videos as part of your answers.

1. Identify and briefly discuss each phase of machine learning life cycle.

2. Discuss how and where Google using machine learning techniques.

3. Apply supervised machine learning in Gmail by answering the following questions:

a. Identify the default categories available for incoming Gmail

b. Provide some sample emails for each category and suggest the features used to
distinguish each default category.

4. If you are given the three (3) choices, what would you like the computer to do if it detects a
spam e-mail? Give your most preferred choice and justify your answers.

5. Briefly explain how we can train computer to perform spam detection.
