INSTITUTE
Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) is one
of the leading institutes dedicated to re-
search in the world, specializing in Mathe-
matics, Theoretical Computer Science, and
Physics. It was founded with an objective of
top class research in mathematical scienc-
es. Today, CMI is a rare example of pub-
lic-private partnership in research and ed-
ucation in India.
TESSELLATE
Tessellate is the brainchild of students at
CMI and serves to both develop further
interest in mathematics and as a fun re-
prieve for students to break from their rut
and flex their creative and competitive
muscles. It all started when the student
body tessellated seemingly unrelated cul-
tural and academic events seamlessly. The
event showcases a wide variety of talents in
music, chess, cubing, quizzes, etc. and visi-
tors are delighted with finger-licking delica-
cies from various food stalls.
STEMS
STEMS, a part of Tessellate, is a nationwide
contest in Mathematics, Physics and Com-
puter Science, which gives students an op-
portunity to test their conceptual under-
standing, attend sessions with world re-
nowned mathematicians and _ scientists,
and win exciting prizes. The exam is one of
its kind as you can attempt it from any-
where and make use of books and online
resources!5 t
