Discussion and Reflection on the Sociology Course

Sociologists explore the framework of groupings, social organizations and how

individuals connect within such settings, as they research sociocultural life ,cultural reform and

the social reasons and repercussions of individual behavior. Because all individual activity is

societal, sociology is a discipline that extends from the close family to the violent multitude,

from criminal organizations to religious traditions, from color, sex and socioeconomic status

divides to basic values in a shared identity. This article examines and comments on what I have

learnt in my everyday life. This paper discusses and reflects on what I learned about in the course

that I can apply to my daily life. It elaborates the concepts and some of the terminologies that I

learned about in the course and how they can apply to me as an individual and why I think it is

important to study sociology. It also points out the one thing that surprised me in my studies.

I could comprehend how sociology adds uniquely to knowledge of the social reality,

social issues and individual experiences . The research allows the application to substantive

sectors addressed to sociologists of sociological prospects, sociological conceptions and

principles. The course is also useful as a sociologist as I can discuss the implications of

analysis of certain information categories that use the crucial formulation of scientific and data

analysis to form a line of reasoning on the social sphere.   The concepts of society, culture and

socialization are some of the key concepts and terms.

the societal concept in sociology   illustrates how all earthly individuals may be seen as

society. For the whole population of the globe, the earth is a common habitat. Everyone on earth

has a shared roots, live in same psychic unit and has the same core interests, wants and anxieties.

The concept of culture in sociology is one of the most commonly used concepts. It refers to the

entire lifestyle of the social members. it encompasses the practices of marriages, family situation,

employment , church events, hobbies and entertainment and so forth. The tangible items they

create are also included. The notion of socializing might be formal or casual. It gets formal

through legally structured social groupings and organizations, such as schools, centers for

religion, main stream media institutions, corporations, military centres, internship opportunities

and so on. It is unstructured when it is done through casual social and micro-equipment

engagements at the individual and minor social group stages.

Sociology allows us to examine at our culture and other institutions more objectively. It

focuses on how society's components fit and evolve and makes us aware of the implications of

this social transformation. In industrialised cultures, we are facing an ever more complicated and

quickly changing social environment. A sociological research outlines the theoretical instruments

and methodologies for comprehending the social environment, reflected through perspectives,

ideals, conduct, employees, customers, households, corporations and government. By

concentrating on external influences which influence behaviours, beliefs and attitudes, sociology

helps us understand ourselves better. We are all inhabitants in our environs and we are creators

of diverse groups, organisations, and governments. Sociology offers instruments and abilities to

create, participate in, manage and promote these organizations that we must take on a more

active role.

What astonished me in the course in sociology is that it is unique since it focuses on

behavior patterns in society. Instead of focusing at the individual human psychology or the

financial or social system, we are concentrating on how people construct these frameworks in

society.
