2. His uncle asks him to find a wife for his son
3. The uncles wife lies in her bed smoking opium right next to her coffin
4. Eldest sons wife continues to have children and wang is happy
5. Second son has a daughter
6. Wang lung sort of gives steward over the land and the son is happy
7. The youngest son is sent to school in the south
8. Eldest son buys nice furniture for the house
9. Eldest son has a big ego
10. Cuckoo is playing the eldest son into giving her money
