corned by the Australian Open crowd, Daniil Medvedev has

opened his post-match press conference with a vow to play

only for himself, his friends, family and country in the future,
suggesting he would even forgo the French Open or
Wimbledon if it meant playing in Russia in front of a
supportive crowd.

After leading by two sets to love in the Australian Open

final, Medvedev was defeated by Rafael Nadal in front of a
fiercely pro-Nadal, Rod Laver Arena crowd.

Medvedev has clashed with the crowd on several occasions

throughout this tournament and he took issue with crowd
members cheering his faults and putting him off at several
stages throughout Sunday night’s final.
