The factors that affect the rate of weathering are:

__
Climate- Places with a more stable or less destructive climate like in the polar regions or desserts have slower rates
of physical weathering and chemical weathering . While tropical regions that has only 2 climate(rainy, sunny) are
more likely to to have rock weathering

Rock type-Rocks which crystalizes first are more likely to undergo weathering ,while rocks which crystalizes last are
less likely to undergo weathering.

Rock Structure-How the rock is arranged or structured is a great impact in weathering specially in mechanical
weathering

Topography-The more stable the place is like in the plains ,the less likely it is to undergo weathering. While the
more steep a place is like in the mountains or valley the more susceptible it is to undergo weathering

Time-The period of time by which a rock is exposed to an agents determine the degree og the weathering of the
rock
